Background and Ministry
David was born and brought up in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. After attending first a Baptist and then a Pentecostal church, David became a born again Christian. He felt called to Bible College in his early 20s and studied for three years at the Elim Bible College in Surrey, graduating with Distinction. He married Jan, who also comes from Merthyr and studied with him at the same time in Bible College, in 1982, and they have one daughter, Deborah.
In 1998 David published his first book The Life of Jesus. At that time he was given a powerful prophetic word that he would write ‘book after book after book after book after book…’ That word has come true as he has gone on to write more than 19 different books on subjects from finance, money and spiritual warfare, standing against a spiritual attack and the heart to overcoming fear and worry. He has also helped a number of other ministries in publishing their books.
A number of David’s books have been translated into different languages – The Life of Jesus and its successor The Life of Jesus, More Than a Prophet has been translated into Chinese, Arabic and Indonesian. No More Fear and Winning over Worry have been translated into Indonesian, Never Enough into Portuguese and others are in the process of being translated.
After 15 years ministering in Aberdeen, David and Jan felt the call to move back to Wales for David to concentrate on writing and itinerant ministry. Jan trained and worked as a journalist and before they attended Bible College where she gained an Honours Degree in Divinity and worked on local and national newspapers. After returning to Wales she took on the role of Home Safety Manager for Wales for RoSPA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and then national Welsh Manager for Asset Skills, a Sector Skills Council. In 2013 she left full time employment and now works with David writing, publishing and helping other people to publish their books. She is also a gifted worship leader.
